To implement it, we shall start by recreating the sensor Bayer filter grid by using a CheckerBoard Node. We need two green cells + one red + one blue. For that, we will set the first 'color' field to pure red (i.e. r = 1), the second field to pure blue, and the third and fourth to pure green, followed by removing the 'center line'. Then, we will employ some of the subframe methods used in the Lens Sharpness chapter (head there for more precise information on how to employ them). The idea is that we should recreate the diffusion caused by the back and forth sensor reflection. In that sense, the subframe worflow with a Transform Node (scale, rotation) and a Blur Node is a suggestions. I split the channel individually as to be able to tweak each of them separately, and used different values for each of them (for example, I just blurred the green channel, while both the red and blue employed the TimeBlur, one with just a scale change and the other scale and blur). Nonetheless, any combination of transformations can be desirable for this effect, just find whichever suits you best.

To finish, I masked the effect with a Radial and a 'star' shape from Glint Node, although a Flare Node could also be employed for this matter. If the camera is animated, the mask should follow the light source for which the Flare Node is advantageous. In any way, there is multiple combinations that can be employed to produce this mask.
